Kells to Kells – The Quay to Success!
Saturday the 17th July started out grey and wet in the quiet village of Kells Co. Antrim. It seemed that the 3rd Annual “Adelaide Kells to Kells Ride-out” would be more of a wash-out than a ride-out! However, the rain did not dampen the spirits of the people of Kells and from early morning the Community Centre was a hotbed of activity. The previous night was no different as bikers descended on Kells from Ballymena having completed a small charity ride-out. They were greeted with a BBQ and a stunt riding display by Kenny Kirk. It was then on to the Buffs Club in Connor for some entertainment... Click here for more.

Riders enjoyed a night on the town in Kells, County Antrim
It all started with renowned photographer Stephen Davison's photographic exhibition in the Ballymena Town Hall, displaying several of his spectacular road racing photos never seen before, followed by Stephen's facinating presentation explaining how the photos were taken. Geoff Hill entertained guests with a slide show of various biking adventures he'd completed and Colin O'Carroll presented a short DVD of the "Adelaide to Adelaide Adventure, around Australia on a Triumph." This was followed by a charity ride-out organised by the Quay Vipers from the Town Hall to the village of Kells where everyone enjoyed a barbeque, stunt riding by Kenny Kirk, Hein Gericke and Ulster Scots music at the nearby Buff's Club.

To The Outback and Beyond!
We went to have a meal in the pub where the famous song was once performed, and were the sole customers, deafened by a trio of televisions belting out the soundtrack to Crocodile Dundee of all things. The most fascinating thing to me about Winton, besides all this, is its sheer size. The shire is larger than Belgium, and the biggest cattle station, Mt Windsor, is the size of Northern Ireland.Add this to the fact that there are just .003 people per square kilometer, compared to 31.5 in the US and 245 in the UK and you get an idea of the emptiness of this land. If you want to be alone, this is the place to be. Follow the adventure here

I want one for Christmas, dear
Designed by the Australian genius Phil Irving, the 1946 Vincent Series B-Rapide was the fastest production bike of its day, and in 1999 brothers Ken and Barry Horner sat down in a back room of their engineering works north of Melbourne to design a machine which would be a tribute to both Irving and the machine he designed. Latest extract from “The Adelaide to Adelaide Adventure” in Australia
8 March marks the start of the Great Ocean Road section of the journey…. First stop was the 12 Apostles, which are now down to about eight or nine as the sea continues its job of eroding the cliffs. The guys were stunned at the spectacle, as was I (Colin), despite having been here many times in the past. In fact I’d been coming here back when there were at least 11 Apostles, making me feel a little old…… Click here for more

And they’re off on the OZ adventure!
It was our first evening in Adelaide, and Colin led the way into the city centre park for what was promised to be an unprecedented firework display to mark the start of the Adelaide Arts Festival and …..promptly lost me! When Colin finally appeared with a cheery grin an hour later…….. “First rule of biking in pairs, if you go through a bloody amber light, check in the mirror to see if your mate’s stuck at the red light, then bloody well stop and wait for him,” I said, strangling him just as cheerily. “Sorry about that, mate. Do try and keep up next time. Fancy a beer?” Click here for more….
